Kerala, better known as gods own country, situated in southern tip of India. It is green Venice of India, a place where nature rules. Kerala is also known as country’s ambassador for travel and tours. On my visit to Kerala I started my journey with Munnar, hardly 4 hours’ drive from Kochi airport. Greenery is all around here, with tea farms all across lush mountain slopes, it is a beauty beyond imagination. Do experience  steaming hot cup of tea made from freshly plucked tea leaves from nearby plantation with breath taking view.
If you look forward to have adventure, you can go for jungle safari through Periyar wildlife sanctuary or take a bamboo rafting ride in Periyar Lake. Periyar is one of the most popular forests reserves of kerala. You get to explore the flora and fauna of the region, and indulge in a bit of hiking as well. In winters there are good chances you could spot a tigers, elephants and other majestic animals of the wild.
Waynad forest which is just 5 hours’ drive from Kochi airport is home to many wild animals like Elephants, Tigers, and Deer etc. you can have their early morning safaris where they will take you deep into the forest.
For those who fancy beaches you could probably visit Varkala Beach, it is a quaint beach located on the boundary of Thiruvananthapuram.
For water lovers an absolute must on list is visit to Alleppey also known Venice of india, sail through rivers, enjoy, relax and sense the serenity around. 

Apart from this do have look to Kochis Chinese fishing nets, there are unique of its kind, Chinese fish nets are believed to have been introduced to Kochi by a Chinese ruler. Fishing nets provide excellent view during duck hours and is worth capturing.
For sports enthusiast there is something unique to watch, Eevery year during the monsoon season, Kerala comes alive with colorful snake boat races. Typical snake boats are 100 to 120 feet long, and hold around 100 rowers. Pick your favorite team and cheer for them
Another unforgettable moment was a Jugle safari on elephant back, it was bit frightening initially  but it was thrilling and exciting later. Mind you it is not kind of ride you have experienced back in your hometown.
Since my childhood days Kathakali dance fascinated me with the dancers wearing  colourful make-up, elaborate costumes and graceful movements, so  do not miss opportunity to visit to witness live the most traditional dance form of kerala. Theyyam is another popular dance form performed in different temples around. A Theyyam performance involves invoking the God and seeking his blessings.

Kerala is in celebration mode at the time Onam, it is a 10 day long festival it falls in the month of August and September. It’s the most imp. Festival for keralites, you would witness houses adorned with colorful Rangolis. You can look forward to lot of action around this time of year
Kerala is also well-known for spices, there are lot many botanical gardens around where you can see, smell and exp. aroma of spices. Do not forget to buy spices from Govt. owned shops in Kerala.
